Ayurveda is the ancient healing science of India and sister science to yoga.  Based on a five elemental theory, Ayurveda works on creating balance through diet and lifestyle.  It considers each person a unique combination of the five elements and gives lifestyle tools accordingly.


There have been many recent medical studies citing the "Gut-Brain Connection".  “Researchers are finding evidence that irritation in the gastrointestinal system may send signals to the central nervous system (CNS) that trigger mood changes, (John Hopkins Medicine).”  Ayurveda made this connection 5,000 years ago.  Ayurveda views the digestive system as the seat of our immunity and sense of well-being.  Come learn about this healing tradition which addresses simple self-care techniques and diet and lifestyle changes to combat  Anxiety & Depression.

Ami Jayaprada Hirschstein, AHC, C-IAYT is co- owner of YogAlive, formerly Jai Ma Yoga Center.  She is a certified Ayurveda Health Counselor with Kripalu School of Ayurveda and certified Yoga Therapist. Ami has been practicing Yoga Therapy, teaching yoga and healing for over twenty years. She works regularly with chronic pain and injuries, anxiety, depression, PTSD, auto-immune diseases, cancer, Lyme, scoliosis, digestive difficulties, insomnia and adrenal fatigue.
