pronouns: she/her/ella

Julissa M. Almonte-Perez, is a Queer, Bilingual (Spanish/ English) Latinx, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Board Certified Music Therapist, Yoga Teacher and Psychedelic Integration Self-Liberation Coach. She intuitively supports and empowers BIPOC LGBTQIA+ communities to restore balance and reconnect to their inner strengths. She puts her clients in the driver’s seat, allowing them to choose how fast or slow and what direction to head in therapeutically. She is clear that the client already has what is needed inside of them to heal and may need a new perspective, but they are the experts of their own lives.

Julissa obtained her Bachelor’s of Music in Music Therapy at Mansfield University and her Masters degree from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She has training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She is in her final year of her Core Energetics program, a Body Psychotherapy which focuses holistically on the mind, body and spirit. Julissa’s empowering approach is guided by an integration of creative, holistic and somatic methods such as writing, breathwork, drumming, vocal and body focused techniques. The client learns to feel into their own bodies and begin a new more intuitive relationship with themselves. Her approach is one that focuses on deshaming and acknowledging the effects of how culture, society, colonialism, and enslavement of  ancestors may be contributing to the unhealthy patterns they experience today. She believes in the power of vulnerability, authenticity, connection, and universal intelligence to aid in helping humans feel empowered to transform their lives.

Julissa is also a ketamine assisted psychotherapy provider.
