Learn to Meditate























One-time Introductory Class Open to All

In this basic meditation class we will create the conditions for our minds and bodies to actually be in the same place!  By synchronizing in this way and aligning with the present moment, we will explore our experience of what it means to be a human being -- awake and alive, right now.  This powerful tool has the potential to reduce stress, deepen sleep, improve concentration, make learning easier, and help us to handle emotions.  And it’s always available to you.  Class will include instruction in sitting and walking meditation, contemplative exercises, and discussion.

Carrie Schapker, LMSW, is a psychotherapist at Wellness Embodied, where she offers both individual and couples counseling.  She has practiced as a Shambhala Buddhist for the past 18 years and is trained as a meditation instructor.  Carrie received her Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University and her BA in Political Science from Williams College.  She is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a certified Health Coach.   See more: http://www.wellnessembodiedcenter.com/#about
