Simon Thrasher is a Licensed Master Social Worker whose approach to therapy is person-centered and holistic. Appreciating the whole person and meeting them where they are, Simon brings warmth, curiosity, non-judgement, and compassion. Simon's therapy practice is a collaboration with each individual, informed by their unique experience and understanding of themselves, and centering their strengths, values, and needs. He fosters safety, trust, and ease in the therapeutic connection, creating a space for refuge, healing, growth, and possibility.


In his work, Simon is guided by a collection of perspectives: person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, biopsychosocial-spiritual model, cultural humility, social and health justice, non-violence and anti-oppression, and harm reduction principles. Areas of interest and study include therapeutic arts, trauma and somatic healing, relationship and sexual health, substance use and recovery, spiritual emergence/emergency, mindfulness and meditation, herbal medicine and nutritional health, and nature connection. 


Simon currently works with adults and adolescents, with a background of experience in community mental health providing therapy and crisis intervention for child, adolescent, and adult individuals, couples, and families. Simon received a Master of Social Work from the University at Albany and a Bachelor of Science in Visual Arts from SUNY New Paltz with a focus in education and therapeutic arts. Simon is also a community herbalist who studied with the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, Dina Falconi, the Wild Gather Hudson Valley School of Herbal Studies, and continues ongoing study and relationship with a vibrant community of herbal medicine practicers. Simon is an artist, musician, writer, reader, meditator, and lover of wilderness. He finds himself in constant awe of both the human and the more-than-human world.


Simon is also a ketamine assisted psychotherapy provider.
