WHO WE ARE

ELISE GOLD

MPS, LCSW, LCAT, Psychotherapist

pronouns: she/her

It is with a full heart that I have landed at Wellness Embodied to join the amazing team of psychotherapists. My studies include two Master’s degrees, one in Humanistic Education (MPS) from SUNY New Paltz, and the other in Social Work (MSW) from Adelphi University. I am licensed as a Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT) with an emphasis on the work I studied during my training and certification in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. I am a Practitioner in Training in Somatic Experiencing. I draw on all of this training in working with the people before me.

Before working with Wellness Embodied, I spent three decades in human services. I worked with people with developmental disabilities, youth who identify as LGBTQAI+, older adults and their caregivers, survivors of the Holocaust, people facing financial distress and teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate level. In 2015, I co-founded the Maya Gold Foundation, a nonprofit serving teens in the Hudson Valley and Nepal. I continue to play an active role in this organization.

More than any other professional, academic or volunteer experience, what fuels my work as a therapist the most is my personal loss and ongoing healing journey. I welcome the opportunity to assist others as they find their path to live with gratitude and joy while holding their grief and other challenges that life itself presents.
