Antony Montero, MA., MHC-LP, is a dedicated and instinctual Mental Health Professional with extensive experience providing intensive and integrative services, in addition to teaching, and advocacy. Antony is committed to building a therapeutic alliance based on trust and compassionate inquiry, which allows clients to identify and liberate unconscious dynamics that impact their ability to be present and ultimately heal.
Antony specializes in working with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. He prioritizes addressing symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and addiction. He believes that creating an environment of unconditional acceptance is vital to building a safe and supportive alliance where clients can identify and address their stuck points and basic needs for love and belonging. Antony utilizes a variety of warm and empathetic tools that help clients better understand themselves and their world, in order to achieve their goals and nurture their resilience. He draws upon Positive Psychology, Gestalt, and Reality Therapy to support and challenge his clients
.Antony has worked for over 11 years in human development with marginalized populations. He is highly experienced in crisis, diagnosis, assessment, and advocacy, and obtained his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at NYU. Additionally, Antony has experience working in academia, as well as supporting court-involved youth and adolescents, and individuals with special needs, disabilities, and those who need mandated counseling. These experiences have instilled in him a deep respect for all cultures and people
