BIPOC THERAPY

BIPOC Therapy

Wellness Embodied intends to be a safe space for healing work for black, indigenous, and all people of color.

Our team of clinicians of color have the lived experience of being BIPOC in the US and the unique and often painful perspective that is not always understood viscerally by white clinicians. We know the therapeutic experience of being witnessed and reflected by someone who understands in an embodied way is invaluable. We welcome clients of color with sincere reverence and understanding. Our hope is that BIPOC clients will find a therapeutic home at WE, knowing there is less of a burden to educate their therapist about BIPOC experiences and the racist systems used to keep the status quo. .

Our therapeutic clinical approach at WE  with BIPOC folks is one of anti-colonial and anti-racist work that is rooted in creating a safe, resourced experience of trust to work through the common themes of shame, anxiety, depression, trauma (including ancestral trauma,) distrust, rage, grief and microaggressions. We welcome all of you, even the parts that may not have been welcome in other spaces.   We work in a deeply compassionate and present way to help you with all that comes up in session. Please reach out and ask for any of us by name at 845-743-6878 if you would like to work with a black therapist, latinx therapist, multiracial therapist, asian therapist, or queer therapist of color.  More information about us can be found by clicking on our photo, or looking at the full “Our Team” tab.
