Makeda Woods-Deans

LCSW, Psychotherapist

pronouns: she/her

Makeda believes therapy shouldn’t feel intimidating. Her approach is real, down-to-earth, and rooted in human connection. She creates a space where clients can show up exactly as they are; no masks, no pressure.

With over 10 years of experience, Makeda has supported individuals through anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. She has worked with youth, adults, and families who often feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or like they’re carrying the weight of the world alone.

Makeda pulls from evidence-based practices, emotional intelligence, and neuroscience; always meeting clients where they are. Whether someone is navigating daily stress or unpacking long-standing patterns, her work is all about moving at the client’s pace and building real tools for real life.

Makeda's educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Society with a minor in Psychology from Ramapo College, a Master’s in Human Service and Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family from Liberty University, and a Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University.
