LMSW, PMH-C, Psychotherapist
Selene is a Hudson Valley native who is dedicated to supporting her neighbors (and beyond) in whatever challenges they may be facing. She offers care to adolescents and adults, approaching therapy with the core belief that we are all in this together and that everyone deserves support whenever and however they need it. She believes that the relationships created in therapy are sacred and continually strives to ensure everyone feels truly seen and heard. More than anything, Selene values authenticity and humor in her work. She believes that in order to trust someone you need to feel that they are being real with you!
Selene is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and uses this evidence-based modality to help people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. She fully believes that everyone has the capacity to heal and feels honored to provide a safe and comforting space where that healing can take place. Along with EMDR, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) interventions in her practice.
As a parent of two, Selene understands just how world-rocking parenthood can be. She is certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and supports individuals through the profound and often complex experiences surrounding pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or the often overwhelming adjustment, she is here to guide you with empathy, validation, and understanding.
Along with being a psychotherapist, Selene has extensive experience working in non-profit community based programs supporting vulnerable individuals and families in Ulster County. Bearing witness to the experiences and resilience of others has deeply inspired and driven her work as a therapist. Selene received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a Concentration in Human Services at SUNY New Paltz and her Master's Degree in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration at the University at Albany.
